The Care & Dementia Show takes place on the 10th & 11th October this year at the NEC in Birmingham. The event is the UK ‘s leading dedicated exhibition for the residential and domiciliary care sector.

What is the purpose of Care Show?

The Care and Dementia Show is the UK’s largest and busiest Care Home event, providing training, solutions and networking opportunities to support those connected to and responsible for the care of others. Care Show 2017 will bring you inspiration, outstanding innovation and ideas to assist you in running your business in the care sector. Care England welcomed the news recently that the show is now part of the CloserStill Media’s multi-award winning stable of well-established and well-respected healthcare events. Professor Martin Green, Chief Executive of Care England commented, “The Care Show traditionally provides a great opportunity to meet care providers, network with product and service suppliers and learn more about the latest sector trends. Care England now looks forward to an even stronger event in the years to come”. CloserStill operates 15 trade shows and conferences in the medical and healthcare sector which delivered more than 60,000 delegates in 2016.

The show remains a relevant and important resource for learning, networking, and trading for operators, providers, and local authorities. Care Show 2017 will look out for those who have come to rely on the show to help them navigate the challenges confronting the care sector. The event aims to assist the sector by sign-posting opportunities, showcase innovation and ideas to improve efficiency, drive profitability and maintain high standards of care to patients and customers across the system.  CloserStill director Michael Westcott commented, “we understand the dynamics of the care sector and especially the challenges it faces. We are honoured and excited to be given the opportunity to apply the experience and expertise of our large and passionate health care team to maintain the Care Show’s leadership position in the sector. We are working with the existing Care Show team to explore new and innovative ways to foster even closer relationships between the trade and the show’s audiences.”

The Virtual Dementia Tour- this tour helps you to understand what people with dementia experience every day. It gives you an opportunity to understand what we need to change to keep our loved ones at home longer, improve our practice and improve the quality of our care.

Autism Reality Experience- the Autism Reality Experience is an innovative, hands on training session which has been developed to give people an experience of the sensory processing difficulties faced by people on the autism spectrum.  Simulation training has been proven to be a highly effective way to engage people in learning and not only do they come away from the training having learned new skills and techniques, the experience and what they learn from it stays with them.
