The initial meetings
The initial meetings were held with the team at Baycroft who had a vision to create a unique luxury care home close to Orpington in Kent; they chose Countrywide as their partners to turn the concept into a finished home.
The brief was to provide a full turnkey package for a 75 bed new build nursing and dementia care home with a café area, restaurants, library, cinema room, hairdressers and all associated lounges and bedrooms. This was to include everything from furniture to medical equipment together with all the finishing touches, even a water feature in the gardens and baby grand piano in the main lounge!

Working closely with the Baycroft team and Gill Jackson Healthcare Consultants to create a care facility with a warm homely feel The furnishings had to meet the design brief but also be practical using quality materials to meet the needs of a busy care home To work with the interior designer to provide fabrics, wood finishes and colours to create a truly exceptional care home

75 bedrooms individually furnished with 4 different lounges and dining rooms, together with a welcoming reception which included a café with modern seating and tables.
The addition of the two restaurants, library, children’s play room, cinema, therapy room, on site hair salon and resident’s gym all add to the experience of living at West Kempston.

The internal fit out of the home took 10 days from start to finish and included around 10000 items in all.
