Corporate Responsibility

The family feeling

A key part of our entity is our culture and it is something that the Countrywide board continually strives to maintain. The family feeling is part of the reason why customers enjoy working with us. This reflects in how our team interacts with our customers and their passion for delivering excellent service is frequently referred to in customer feedback.

Honesty, integrity and accountability

Honesty, integrity and accountability are our most valued principles. We look to employ like-minded people who share these values. We provide equal opportunities to all existing and prospective employees. We are committed to the fair and equitable treatment of all our team and do not discriminate on the grounds of race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, nationality or ethnic origin.

Investing in the local community

Our business is located on the outskirts of the village of Grimethorpe in South Yorkshire, an area that was significantly affected by the closure of the colliery in 1993 and has been considered a deprived area with high unemployment. As we continue to thrive we are committed to investing in the local community, creating additional employment. We do not work on zero-hour contracts and we are fortunate to have a high retention of team members. At Countrywide Healthcare, we are proud to recognise many people who celebrate ten or more years’ long service.

High standards of quality and safety

Countrywide Healthcare has high standards of quality and safety and is committed to continuous improvement. We are certified to ISO 9001-2015.

We work closely with our suppliers to ensure that the products we supply are ethically sourced. As part of our supplier approval process, we ask our manufacturing partners to provide evidence that their supply chain meets our high standards and has a robust modern slavery policy in place.

Care Workers Charity

Countrywide Healthcare is a proud supporter of the Care Workers Charity. We play an active role in raising funds to support care workers who are in need and have fallen on hard times. Some of our recent fundraisers have included the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and Snowdon at Night. As a main supplier to the care industry, we see every day the hard work and dedication our care workers show to look after the elderly and vulnerable.
